Nsambya Hospital is a tertiary referral hospital with a bed capacity of 361 beds. It is involved in patient care, research and teaching. It offers specialist services in Surgery, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Obstetrics and Gynacology.

In addition there are specialised services in Urology, Eye care, Orthopedics, Endocrinology, Endoscopy, Larascopy, HIV/AIDS and Accident and Emergency. It has both General and Private patient facilities.
Founded back in 1903, Nsambya is a Catholic Mission hospital owned by the Archdiocese of Kampala and managed by the Little Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi. The hospital has undergone major expansion since its inception and has a recently built and expanded pharmacy and has carried out major repairs on the buildings on top of expanding and revamping its private patient ward and laboratory.
St. Francis Hospital Nsambya has an average of 18,000 admissions every year and recieves on average 200 out-patients everyday with 5500 deliveries annually.
